Design - Development - Test

Development, design and prototype testing is carried out by inventor Greg Sowden in Auckland, New Zealand. After successful prototype testing, each boat (from 2.5m) undergoes CE testing at an accredited European institute and, after successful testing, receives a CE certificate of design class "C". Manufacturing is then carried out in accordance with the international standard ISO 6185-2 in an ISO9001 certified production facility. Due to the high UV radiation in New Zealand and Australia, the 0.9mm thick multi-layer quality PVC fabric of the Takacats is equipped with a very strong UV protector => anti-UV grade tested to 4-5 out of 5 - ISO 4892-3:2006. All Takacats are available in PVC or in TPU (welded seams without plasticisers).
